Monday 30 October

This morning we had a visit from Stu Duval, an awesome storyteller who draws pictures as he shares with the students.

First he showed us how to draw pictures using letters as a starting point.

Then he drew a picture to go with the story he was going to tell. It was a story he used to tell his son when he was little and it was called 'The Little Green Book Monster'.
We all loved it!

You can go to Stu's website to learn how to draw other pictures. http://studuval.co.nz/

Welcome back for our final term of 2017!
This term we have a Science focus. We will be exploring habitats, physical states and the effect of the sun and moon. We also have a Zoo visit coming up really soon.
Reports come home in week 2 for those learners turning 7 during the term. Learners need to wear a Torbay hat every day this term - no matter the weather.
Classrooms are very busy places, if you are able to help in any way, please contact your child’s teacher.  Jobs may include putting away books, listening to reading, supporting writing, helping with other learning or cleaning the tables. Or perhaps you would prefer to do jobs at home.  Any help is appreciated!
Please remember to check our Rangitoto Webpage for important information, Home Learning and Oral language topics. We are looking forward to a great term.

We are learning to show our C.A.R.E. values:
